AIR TRAVEL: The closest airport to Amalfi is Naples Capodichino International Airport (NAP). Fly into Naples (often not many direct flights) and then take transportation to Amalfi (it'll take about 1.5 hours).

TRAVEL NOTES:

Once you arrive to Naples you can rent a car, take a bus or taxi to get to Amalfi. Some hotels may offer transportation as well.

Note: The planner suggests to hire a private driver that will collect guests at the arrival and take them directly to their hotel. Traffic and parking in Amalfi are quite challenging.

The next closest airport to Amalfi is Rome (FCO).

Guests could fly into Rome and spend a few days there exploring, then either rent a car and drive direct to Amalfi (about 3.5 hours) or the train to Naples or Salerno then transportation to Amalfi.

Trains run frequently between Rome's Stazione Termini and Naples' Stazione Central (Central Railway Station) or Salerno Train station.

The quickest train between Rome and Naples is about 1 hr, 10 mins. Once in Naples, it is about one hour by car to Amalfi.
